Sara Fahrney, President
Sara works with local businesses on their financial management & reporting needs. As a Certified Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor, she also provides QuickBooks Consulting for new businesses, valuable advice for startups and helpful hints for the most seasoned business owners in dealing with their accounting software.
Sara is currently working towards obtaining an Enrolled Agent Certification with the Internal Revenue Service to further help represent our clients.
Sara is a 2002 graduate of Colorado State University and has a background prior to joining VTA in lending & financial analysis.

Helen Bird, Tax Manager
Helen first came to the Vail Valley in 1974. That same year she founded Vail Tax & Accounting. Helen is still devoted part time to VTA and maintains a large list of happy clients. She is our human encyclopedia of tax knowledge and is a tremendous resource for our CPAs and clients.

Curt has over 30 years of experience in private and public accounting, advising small businesses on various tax and accounting matters. Mark has more than 30 years' experience in the fields of tax and accounting including financial advisory and business valuations. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa and earned his CPA license in Colorado in 1977. As the Payroll Manager for VTA, Kathy oversees all payroll services provided to our small business clients. She obtained her American Payroll Association Basic Certification for payroll professionals in 2009 by scoring in the top 10% of applicants on the Western Slope. The newest member to our family is Rebecca Schweitzer. Becky is the Association Accounting Department. She has previously worked in finance and has been an independent bookkeeper in the Vail Valley for many years.
